개나리반

2주차 수업 업데이트를 드려요~ 

이번 주부터 본격적으로 교재 수업을 시작했어요. 자음과 모음을 배우기 전에, 먼저 한글 창제에 대해 알아보았어요. 

세종대왕이 왜 한글을 만들었는지, 그리고 어떻게 창제했는지를 배우는 시간이었어요. 

이구동성 게임(두 명 이상의 아이들이 각자 다른 자음 소리를 동시에 말하고, 다른 아이들이 그 소리를 맞추는 게임)을 통해 기본 자음의 소리를 연습해보았어요. 아이들이 정말 즐거워하며 배움의 시간을 가졌답니다~ 

개나리반은 기본적으로 리세스가 없는 반이지만, 아이들이 Class Reward Jar에 별을 다 채우면 선택적으로 체육관에서 15분 동안 리세스를 가질 수 있어요. 

첫날, 아이들이 Reward Jar을 다 채워서 신나게 뛰어놀고 반 친구들과 친해지는 시간을 가졌답니다. 리워드 별을 다 채운 우리 아이들, 많은 칭찬 부탁드려요! 수업에 열심히 참여하고, 대답도 잘하고, 숙제도 다 해오면 리워드 별을 받을 수 있으니, 아이들에게 숙제에 대한 열정을 심어주세요^^

이번 시간에는 문화와 역사에 대해 배웠어요. 이름과 호칭에 대해 알아보고, 촌수를 계산하는 방법도 배웠답니다. 

사촌을 넘어서 10촌까지 계산해보는 재미있는 시간이었어요^^. 아직 family tree를 완성하지 못한 친구들은 완성해와 주세요!

1. 일기 1개 또는 2개 쓰기 

2. Ch.1 family tree 완성하기
3. 자기 이름 10번 써오기(숙제책 뒷면에 써오기)

This is Jenny Summers, just giving you an update on the second week of class~

First Period: 

We officially kicked off our curriculum this week. Before diving into consonants and vowels, we took some time to learn about the creation of Hangul. 

The kids learned why King Sejong invented the Korean alphabet and how it all came together. 

We practiced the basic consonant sounds with a fun game where a few kids made different sounds at the same time, and the others had to guess what they were. It was a really enjoyable learning experience for everyone!

In the Gaenari class, we don’t usually have a scheduled recess, but if the kids fill up the Class Reward Jar with stars, they get to choose a 15-minute recess in the gym. 

On the first day, kids filled up the jar and had a blast running around and getting to know their classmates. 

Please give them a big high-five for earning those stars! They can earn more by participating in class, answering questions, and completing their homework, so a little encouragement from home would be great!


Second Period: 

This session was all about culture and history. The kids learned about names and titles, and they even figured out how to calculate family relationships up to the 10th cousin! It was a lot of fun. If your child hasn’t finished their family tree yet, please have them complete it at home.


Homework:

Please check your child’s homework folder for the list of assignments:

1. Write 1 or 2 diary entries each week
2. Complete Ch.1 family tree
3. Write my name 10 times (on the back of the homework book)
